University Campus Suffolk (UCS) opened in 2007 and is among one of the newest higher education institutions in the UK. UCS is a modern approach to higher education and has a network of centres across the county in Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Otley. This means that all higher education students studying at the site of West Suffolk College are studying with UCS Bury St Edmunds. All students studying at UCS Bury St Edmunds are UCS students and are working towards joint awards of the Universities of East Anglia and Essex.

The UCS network of learning centres focuses on accessibility, community, enterprise, and innovation. UCS is academically strong, offering modern flexible modes of learning and innovative courses to meet both student and employer needs.  Employability is at the core of all its programmes.
