Quality

The primary purpose of West Suffolk College is to provide outstanding education and training developing skills that contribute to the success of the individual and the economy.

The College is inspected in Ofsted.  The Quality team ensure that the systems within College are robust and contribute to the overall excellent standards expected by learners, employers and staff.  The College aims to continuously improve in order to maintain high standards. 

The College has a rigorous Self Assessment Review process.  At the end of each academic year the course directors are expected to review their course identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for further development.  Cross College Managers, School and Faculty Self Assessment Reviews also take place.  Each of these in turn contributes to the overall College Self Assessment Review.

West Suffolk College publishes a College Annual Report which is available on request. 

In May 2007 West Suffolk College was accredited with the new Training Quality Standard (TQS), designed to bring trainers and employers together together to bridge the UK's skills gap.

In May 2007 West Suffolk College was accredited with the new Training Quality Standard (TQS) , designed to bring trainers and employers together to bridge the UK’s skills gap.  A total of 31 providers across the country have achieved the Training Quality Standard and West Suffolk College is one of only two in the Eastern Region.

West Suffolk College also holds a number of other highly prestigious awards:

  • Investors in People (IiP)
  • Investors in People (IiP) – Leadership and Management. 
  • Matrix – the quality standard for information advice and guidance service.
  • CEIGS – Career, Education, Information Guidance Standard. 
  • Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for 2007
