Principal's Welcome
This Student Handbook provides you with a guide to important information about the College. I hope it will help you to settle down to the new academic year and to make use of the many facilities and support services that we provide you with at West Suffolk College. If you are a new student, I would like to welcome you to the College and trust that you will enjoy your studies here, as well as the opportunity to make many new friends.
If you are a returning student, I hope you will come back refreshed and ready to work hard so that you can successfully achieve your qualifications. Some of our students are based off the main campus site or are studying while at work and do not regularly come to the main campus. I hope you will still feel able to access the same high quality of education and training as our main campus based students do. You can all be sure that the staff of the College are here to give you the best possible experience. We want to offer you a very personal and friendly atmosphere, supporting your studies and helping you to achieve the very best possible results at the end of your course. We do expect all students to work hard to reach their full potential. We know for some there will be challenges along the way, but most are overcome if dealt with at an early stage. I would therefore encourage you to talk to staff, in particular your Personal Tutor, as often as possible about your studies and about any other concerns.
Please make the best use of your time at College – it will be over all too quickly.
Enjoy the coming year!
