Student Welfare, Advice and Guidance
Money
Before you consider applying for a course, it is a good idea to work out how you are going to fund it. Making financial decisions at the outset strongly increases the likely completion of your course and therefore your success.
However, student finance can be very complicated and if you are not sure what you might be entitled to you should book an appointment to see a Welfare Officer in Student Welfare. You can do this by telephoning 01284 716 319.
Learner Support Fund
The Learner Support Fund is now closed, while we assess the first round of applications.
When further funding becomes available information will be on the West Suffolk College Website and StudentNet.
EMA/ALG
If you are a full-time student and your household income is £30,810 or less, you may be eligible for Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). The weekly allowance is up to £30 per week.
