Designed for

This qualification is designed for experienced trainers who wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification or for those trainers wishing to broaden their experience and knowledge.  Candidates should be in the workplace and able to fulfil the criteria of the qualification in order to provide evidence for the portfolio building.  The course is designed for workbased learning trainers and will enable candidates to gain recognition for their roles and responsibilities that they carry out in the work place.

Course Content

Candidates have to complete 9 units, of which 6 are mandatory

Mandatory Units:

• Evaluate and develop own practice
• Identify individual learning aims and programmes
• Agree learning programmes with learner
• Develop training sessions
• Monitor and review progress with learners
• Create a climate that promotes learning

Optional units: Candidates must achieve EITHER 2 units from Group A and 1 from Group B OR 3 from Group A.

Group A Optional Units

• Enable learning through presentation
• Enable learning through demonstrations and instruction
• Enable individual learning through coaching
• Enable group learning

Group B Optional Units

• Support learners by mentoring in the workplace
• Support and advise individual learners
• Assess candidates using a range of methods
• Support competence achieved in the workplace
• Review health and safety procedures in the workplace
