Designed for

Candidates who wish to assess candidates for NVQ competence based qualifications.  Delegates should be vocationally competent in the area they are going to assess with a minimum of two candidates to assess.

Course Content

Candidates will attend a training seminar at West Suffolk College from 9.30pm – 4.30pm for one day.  The seminar section provides delegates with the knowledge and understanding for the completion of the Unit A1:  Assess candidates using a range of methods.

The Seminar content covers:

• Background of NVQs
• The Role of the Assessor
• Skills of the Assessor
• Evidence Collection
• Giving Constructive Feedback
• Providing Underpinning Knowledge
• Contructing a Portfolio of Evidence

Post Seminar support includes

• A learner helpline
• One oto One Tutorial Support in the Workplace
• Assessment of Performance in the Workplace
• Final Assessment and Verification of the Portfolio
