Target Skills Gold is a modern and convenient way to provide online assessment, Skills for life learning resources and access to practice materials for students who are unable to attend regular sessions at our Local Learning Centres
The system allows students to work towards achieving the National Test qualifications in a more flexible way:
- At home
- At work
- At college - outside of class times
- At Local Learning Centres
- At local libraries
Target Skills Gold covers the following elements:
- Screener - 24 quick questions to see if you require any help with your maths and (or) English
- Initial Assessment - an indepth look at what you will need to work on
- Learning Resources - personalised internet resources for you to work on to improve your skills
- Messaging - a direct messaging system between you and your tutor
- Tutor Support - As with all of our courses, you will be provided with a fully qualified tutor to help you along the way.
Target Skills Gold is aimed at the following people:
- Those that cannot attend regular Skills for Life classes
- People in full time employment
- Those that would rather work at home
- Students in the workplace - where employers have released you to study at work
- Shift workers
- Even for those people who want extra homework!
What we will expect from you
- Attend an induction session - to complete college paperwork etc...
- Keep in regular contact with your tutor - using the inbuilt messaging system
- Attend at least 3 sessions at our regular classes- to be arranged with your tutor
- Keep your tutor informed of your progress - to help when booking for your exam
To work towards a Skills for Life qualification using Target Skills Gold, you will need to make an appointment to complete an induction session.
