We also arrange workplace delivery by arrangement with employers

(Employers Click Here).

You will study general English and focus on the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Grammar and vocabulary will be developed throughout the course.

Citizenship classes - whilst we do not hold dedicated citizenship classes, we can assist those needing to study citizenship. Please ask us about this.

How do I join a class?

  • New learners will have an initial assessment

  • From the initial assessment, and discussion with you, the learner, we write your Individual Learning Plan. This identifies your strengths and weaknesses, what you have already learnt and what you would like to learn. We let you know which class will suit you best.

  • You complete an enrolment form and pay. This secures your place on a course.

  • Your lesson will include all the relevant topic areas for you to become ready to take the City and Guilds ESOL assessment

(ESOL Contact Details - Click here)

A variety of resources are used, such as handouts, computers, interactive whiteboard, learner led activities (such as presentations and discussions), reading books, and materials for homework are provided as well as the option of using Target Skills Gold.

Why do we vary our resources?

  • To make your lesson enjoyable

  • To celebrate the equality and diversity in your multi-ethnic classes

  • To cater for different learning styles

  • To stimulate you as a learner to recognise the many different ways you can learn English

When you and your tutor agree, you will be entered in for the City and Guilds assessment. This is at any one of five levels and tests the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
